two roads diverged.

This is my dad's favorite poem. Well, it was when I was younger. I don't know if it still is, but maybe. When I was about 12 years old or so, I was homeschooled with my older brother, Daniel, and my two younger sisters, Rachel and Sara. My mom made the four of us memorize this poem for my dad's birthday, and recite it to him. And we did just that. I've long since forgotten it now, but I still like the poem.
I feel like this poem has a great meaning for me right now, as I'm forced (trust me, if I could, I would choose to never make a hard decision ever again as long as I live) to make decisions that will effect my whole entire life. It's quite stressful. Add a few tough classes on top of that, and you've got yourself a stressed-out little Megan.
But anyway, here's the amazing poem.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

  1. my sister just gave me this advice... "Will this matter 5000 years from now?. If it doesn't matter in 5000 years, try to not stress about it." hope things are going well! i love this poem :)
